Why : SAT สอบไปทำไม?

คะแนน SAT เอาไว้ยื่นเข้าเรียนมหาวิทยาลัยในอเมริการะดับชั้น ป.ตรี หรือ มหาวิทยาลัยในไทยและทั่วโลก ระดับชั้น ป.ตรีหลักสูตรอินเตอร์ บางสาขาวิชาเอาแต่ TOEFL บางคณะเอา SAT+TOEFL ต้องดูเป็นรายละเอียดในแต่ละสาขาวิชาไป บางสาขาวิชา สาขาวิชาเดียวกัน แต่คนละมหาลัย ก็เอาคะแนน TOEFL , SAT สูงต่ำต่างกัน แล้วแต่ Policy ของคณะนั้น ๆ ในอนาคต มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ที่เปิดภาคป.ตรีอินเตอร์ ก็อาจจะมีการใช้ SAT ในการสมัครเช่นกัน

What : SAT หลัก ๆ มี 2 ชนิด คือ SAT I และ SAT II(Subject Test)

SAT I: มี 3 Part

✐ Part ที่ 1/3 Critical Reading มี Reading passages และ Sentence Completion คะแนนเต็ม 800

✐ Part ที่ 2/3 writing Section มี ให้เขียน Short Essay และ Multiple-Choice questions on identifying errors และ improving grammar and usage. คะแนนเต็ม 800

✐ Part ที่ 3/3 Mathematics จะเป็นโจทย์เกี่ยวกับ Arithmetic Operations, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics and Probability คะแนนเต็ม 800

SAT II: จะเป็นการสอบวิชาเฉพาะ ที่อยู่ในหมวดวิชา ภาษาอังกฤษ, ประวัติศาสตร์, คณิตศาสตร์, วิทยาศาสตร์, ภาษาต่างประเทศ บางคณะก็เอา SAT II บางคณะก็ไม่เอา SATII เช่น บางคณะในชั้นป.ตรี อินเตอร์แห่งหนึ่งของไทย ที่มีการแข่งขันสูง จะเอาทั้ง TOEFL, SAT, SAT II (เลข), SATII (ฟิสิกส์) เป็นต้นซึ่ง SAT II จะมีสาขาวิชาต่าง ๆ ในการสอบ เช่น Literature, Math Level 1, Math Level 2, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, German, Spanish เป็นต้น

When :

SAT จะจัดสอบในไทยปีละไม่กี่ครั้ง : ในแต่ละปี SAT จะเปิดสอบไม่เกิน 6 ครั้งต่อปี ส่วนใหญ่จะจัดสอบในช่วงเดือน ตุลาคม, พฤศจิกายน, ธันวาคม, มกราคม, พฤษภาคม และ มิถุนายน (สอบวันเดียวกันทั่วโลก) ซึ่งใครจะสมัคร ขอให้สมัครสอบก่อน 1-3 เดือนล่วงหน้า เพราะรอบสอบ เต็มไวมาก สอบที่เชียงใหม่ หรือ ที่กรุงเทพ จัดสอบวันเดียวกัน ทั่วประเทศ ทั่วโลก

 In 1994, the National Commission on IIT considered leaving the Mies Main Campus and moving to the Chicago suburbs. Construction of a veritable wall of Chicago Housing Authority high-rises replaced virtually all of IIT's neighbors in the 1950s and 1960s, a well-meaning but flawed attempt to improve conditions in an economically declining portion of the city. The closest high-rise, Stateway Gardens, was located just south of the IIT campus boundary, the last building of which was demolished in 2006. But the Dearborn Homes to the immediate north of campus still remain. The past decade has seen a redevelopment of Stateway Gardens into a new, mixed-income neighborhood dubbed Park Boulevard; the completion of the new central station of the Chicago Police Department a block east of the campus; and major commercial development at Roosevelt Road, just north of the campus, and residential development as close as Michigan Avenue on the east boundary of the school.

Bolstered by a $120 million gift in the mid-1990s from IIT alumnus Robert Pritzker, former chairman of IIT's Board of Trustees, and Robert Galvin, former chairman of the board and former Motorola executive, the university has benefited from a revitalization. The first new buildings on Main Campus since the "completion" of the Mies Campus in the early 1970s were finished in 2003—Rem Koolhaas's McCormick Tribune Campus Center and Helmut Jahn's State Street Village. S.R. Crown Hall, a National Historic Landmark, saw renovation in 2005 and the renovation of Wishnick Hall was completed in 2007. Undergraduate enrollment has breached 2,500.[1] To further boost their focus on biotechnology and the melding of business and technology, University Technology Park At IIT, an expansive research park, has been developed by remodeling former Institute of Gas Technology and research buildings on the south end of Main Campus.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The Small Grants Competition (SGC) of the U.S. Embassy is accepting applications for grants from indigenous, non-governmental, not-for-profit organizations based in Thailand.  The purpose of SGC is to award small grants for up to US$20,000 for projects with the purpose of increasing engagement with Asia-Pacific institutions, strengthening human rights/democracy/good governance/rule of law, promoting educational exchange, and/or supporting economic issues.  Key target audiences are youth and women/girls.  Priority will be given to proposals from new organizations and new projects.  The deadline for submitting proposals is Thursday, March 21, 2013.  Selection result will be announced by the end of April 2013.
To be eligible for consideration, every applicant must be engaged in, or propose to carry out, a project that supports one of the following five strategic goals:

1. Multilateral Engagement: by increasing engagement with Asia-Pacific institutions, including Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), APEC, and Lower Mekong Initiative (LMI).
2. Human Rights/Democracy/Good Governance/Rule of Law: by strengthening human rights by engaging the people of the East Asia Pacific in programming to support religious freedom, to ensure free and open access to the Internet, to foster and maintain a vibrant civil society, and to emphasize gender equality.
3. Education: by promoting study abroad opportunities in the United States and connecting young people with American youths and U.S. institutions.  Educational exchange programs promote knowledge sharing between academics and professionals in the United States and East Asia Pacific countries and provide tools for economic empowerment.
4. Culture/Sports/American Society: by building relationships and countering negative stereotypes about American culture in the East Pacific region through cultural exchange, including art, sports, theater, music, dance, and literature; collaborating with public and private cultural institutions and promoting alumni to deepen existing ties in the U.S. as well as within the region, and providing locally credible voices.
5. Economic Issues: by supporting the U.S. economic goals in the Asia-Pacific region which include forging more open economic ties through engagement with partners and regional institutions; promoting a free system of commerce through trade, investment, and protection of intellectual property rights; and supporting a fairer trade and investment regime.

The SGC will NOT fund projects for the following:

• Individuals and third-country organizations,
• Projects relating to partisan political activity (but proposals for non-partisan election education and related public information activities are eligible for consideration),
• General operating expenses, long-term infrastructure costs and undefined miscellaneous or “overhead” expenses (but it may include modest administrative expenses, including honoraria/partial salaries of grant implementers, but only when they are directly linked to the conduct of the specific grant program),
• High costs to produce materials,
• Travel to international conferences,
• Primarily for food and drink expenses,
• Direct social services (but may be used to train trainers),
• Budget over US$20,000,
• Duplication of existing projects, and
• Multi-year projects (but past recipients will be considered for new one-year projects).

The funds may be used for seminars and workshops, but proposals must describe the expected audience, content, and timeframe, and justify the activity in terms of outcome and benefits to U.S. national interests.  It can also be used for the publication of materials, but proposals must describe the audience, content and means of distribution.  Proposals must include a description of how the grant will be monitored and evaluated.  Only organizations that demonstrate long-term sustainability beyond the proposed project activity will be considered.  Note that the average amount of approved projects has been US$15,000.

• Project sustainability (explain how the project will continue to be funded/have an impact after the end of this proposed funding period)

การพูด มี 2 แบบ

- แบบที่ 2 เขียนแสดงความคิดเห็นในหัวข้อต่าง ๆ มีเวลา 30 นาที ซึ่งจริง ๆ แล้วจะเป็นการพิมพ์กับคอมพิวเตอร์

คะแนนแต่ละ part จะเต็ม 30 คะแนน ซึ่งรวมกันจะได้ 120 คะแนน
หากต้องการไปเรียนต่ออเมริกา หรือ ขอทุน ควรจะได้ 80 คะแนนขึ้นไป
